WHAT TO EXPECT
Snippy is a conference where leading experts converge to present the latest research on high strangeness, metaphysics, ancient civilizations, and astronomy. Participants at Snippy will learn new insights about high strangeness, UAP, UAD, cryptic, ancient wisdom, disclosure, astronomy and their personal role in the universe. Astronomers are welcome to turn their telescopes to the night sky.
The International Dark-Sky Association awarded the Great Sand Dunes National Park the much heralded “Dark Sky” status in 2019. It’s one of the darkest skies on earth- limited only by natural airglow and starlight. The darkness at the event grounds is Bortle 2 which is so dark that faint shadows are cast on white objects by the Milky Way. If there is a passing cloud it appears like a black hole in the sky. No light domes impact viewing. It’s dark enough to confuse some into thinking the rising milky way is the approaching sunrise. The Milky Way has faint extensions, making it 50 degrees thick. Because this arid, high desert has scant rainfall, the skies are typically unencumbered by clouds.
KFO is excellent for any type of observation-deep field, binoculars, or just naked eye. KFO sits on 320 acres of Chico brush, dusty desert land that’s 10 miles West of the Snippy UAD. Keri King owns and operates the land where those suffering Noctalgia* come to see the strange and astronomical. On this desolate land, only minor investments have been made to clear a road and campground area, paving the way for larger development starting in 2026. *Feelings of loss of the dark skies.
According to the United States geological Survey of this area, both the Aeromagnetic and Gravitational (Bougier gravity) maps indicate basic field strength, as well as areas of high and low field strength. Areas encompassing both maximum and minimum field strength all have frequent high strangeness sightings. Maybe you’ll join the dozens of people that have reported seeing strange objects from KFO.
The land is primitive with no amenities apart from porta potties and tents for workshops. Those staying on the land should plan for high desert camping at 7,500 ft elevation. There is ample space for trailers, RV’s or tents. You are responsible for everything else- food, water and shelter.
Hotels/restaurants are available about 20 minutes away in Alamosa, but not recommended to get the full effect of the night sky.
